Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Gala Dinner

It is with great pride that Corex Plastics (Australia) Pty Ltd can announce themselves as one of those inductees into the prestigious Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.

Victorian State Minister for Manufacturing, Exports and Trade, Richard Dalla-Riva inducted Corex Plastics into the Hall of Fame at an awards dinner, on the 3rd May 2012, attended by 800 representatives of the state’s leading manufacturers.

Established by the Victorian Government in 2001, the Manufacturing Hall of Fame celebrates the hero’s of the States Manufacturing Sector – those companies and the individuals who are leaders in their manufacturing field both locally and internationally.

Corex Plastics (Australia) Pty Ltd is a 100% owned private company that was established in 1985 and employs 120 staff across a broad range of disciplines.

Today, it is amongst the world leaders in its field of plastic sheet extrusion, innovative re-useable and recyclable packaging, fabrication and design, as well as the recycling of polymers.

Commencing with the first hi-tech twin wall sheet extrusion line in Australia, the company has grown organically through investment in technology, diversification and acquisition.

Located in modern purpose built manufacturing facilities in Dandenong, Corex has seven extrusion lines and a range of work centres including packaging, die cutting, sonic welding, and printing amongst others that caters for hundreds of diverse applications. The company has a dedicated fabrication and design centre where products are custom made to their clients’ requirements.

With a core focus on innovation and product development, recent investments in recycling process has enabled a custodial role of the polymer resin and control over the full life cycle of its plastic products. This initiative has lead to saving thousands of tonnes of this valuable resource going to landfill each year.

The company has continuously embraced best technology to enable it to optimise the manufacturing processes and performances, as well as technology that enhances customer service. Lean manufacturing principals are continuously applied to all sections of the business, resulting in major productivity improvements.

Products manufactured by Corex include Corflute®, Fluteboard®, Armaboard® and Cuspation for use in applications as diverse as Bulk Packaging, seafood/produce packaging, sign boards, automotive tote boxes and slip sheets.
